GREAT PLACE TO LEARN

What Makes the Schneider Music Studio a Great Place to Learn?

The foundation of Mrs. Schneider's teaching is to instill a joy for music in each student.

It takes time and discipline to achieve desired results, therefore how can we "motivate" our children to accomplish this? Mrs. Schneider has spent years developing her program to help encourage students in this area.  She does this by using a variety of different games and motivational (non-competitive) contests to further maximize the potential of each student.

Mrs. Schneider offers organizational tools for learning their literature

This allows for efficient use of time, maximizing the learning experience.

She spends time teaching student how to "teach" themselves

An underlying focus is always on learning skills to become self-evaluating problem solvers.

Mrs. Schneider believes in setting and achieving goals

She asks students to set measurable and attainable goals, rather than just focusing on "time at the piano" each week.

She is a "high energy" teacher

She gets excited with the students, and is gifted at using encouragement to further their progress.

Mrs. Schneider strongly believes in developing character

As Dr. Suzuki explains in his book Nurtured by Love, his desire through teaching children is to "develop a person's aptitude; how a mediocre child was turned into a noble human being and an excellent musician." "There is no result without cause. Wrong education and upbringing produces ugly personalities, whereas a fine upbringing and good education will bring forth superior sense and feeling, as well as a nobility and purity of mind."

She promotes a well rounded approach to music education

Her lessons are founded in the Suzuki philosophy and literature, but she incorporates additional literature to open their eyes to all that music has to offer.
